Katoomba Public School Garden
Friday, 09 May 2008
Parents, teacher (Mrs Lawless) and children at Katoomba Public School have decided to build a school garden. Work started last weekend and an exceptionally large, talented and enthusiastic team assembled at 10:30am.
The team was ably led by Minister for the Environment, Jessica Girard, Shadow Minister, Summer Grant, Lizzie Connor and Sue Girard.
A garden on the same site 10 years ago was started by Supapon Raffan, Trish Spillane and Deb Hurley and it was time to revisit the work they started. In just two frenetic hours an enormous amount was achieved.
We're taking Mother's Day off but will be returning in two weeks to start the work in earnest. There was an amazing turnout and it was a lot of fun. See photos from the day below thanks to Sue Girard.
